Is it more optimistic to be pessimistic? Assmuning that if you have a positive outlook on mankind, creating higher expectations, you will be disappointed time and time again; is it more optimistic to have low expectations and therefore create fewer disappointments and only positive when mankind exceeds those expectations?

 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
